| "CCLI serves every part of the Body of Christ. As a Worship Pastor in my local church, I remember when it was almost impossible to legally print out and project all the song lyrics to the songs we were singing. Obtaining permission from every publisher was a daunting task. CCLI has made it so easy to comply with copyright laws by simplifying the process in so many ways. Also, as a Songwriter, they have allowed me to focus more on the heart of ministry and less on the maze of administration. I am truly grateful for their vision and integrity." |

Here is a list of possible things to try in order to get your sound working in SongSelect.
1. Can you hear sounds through your speakers as you use Windows? If not, then check to see that your volume on the speaker is turned up, a setting in your Windows volume control is not on ‘Mute’, and volumes are turned up or that there isn't a problem with your sound card.
2. Assuming that your sound card and speakers are working, do you have Windows Media Player installed? If not, download the latest version, which is free.
Having the latest Windows Media Player is not required to play SongSelect Sound Samples, but installing the latest version will reinstall drivers that may have become corrupted.
3. Once you have Windows Media Player installed, if you still cannot hear sounds, check to ensure that the player is setup to recognize .wma sound files, which is the type of sound file used in SongSelect.
Different versions of the Media Player may have differences in how you open settings, but try looking for Tools/Options/File Types on the top menu. Be sure that “Windows Media Audio file" (.wma)is checked. More than likely, if this was not checked or enabled, this will solve your problem. For good measure, you should restart your PC after making any changes.
4. If you need help with installation of Microsoft Windows Media Player, go to Microsoft's installation help page. Mac users may find assistance at Microsoft Windows Media Player 7 for Mac
5. The SongSelect sound files are delivered via streaming technology, rather than a file download to your hard disk. This means that the file is loaded into your PC's memory, not to your hard disk. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, do you have the security setting at "Medium" or lower? Many audio streams do not work on systems set to high security.
6. If you are using SongSelect in an office over a network, is there a firewall, proxy server, or other security system in place that blocks audio streams? You and your network administrator may want to read about firewalls, proxy servers, and how to receive audio streams through them.
7. If the audio starts and stops, is muffled or plays at the wrong speed, then your connection to the Internet is not delivering enough information to keep your Media Player playing. The Media Player needs to stop until the buffer is full again before it can resume playing.
If your Media Player is starting and stopping, or losing the signal altogether, try making the following adjustments:
* Check to be sure your modem is set to operate at the highest possible speed by setting the "COM" port to its highest speed.
* Set the incoming buffer to maximum.
* Adjust the player's buffer time. Pull down the "View" menu, select "Options", and select the "Advanced" tab. Highlight the item labeled "Windows Media" and click "Change" and set the Windows Media buffer to 30 seconds. Then exit and restart the player.
Please note that this sequence may be slightly different, depending on what version of Windows Media Player you have installed, but you are looking for the option to change the buffer length.
* Set the SongSelect sound sample setting to “Low” at least to start with. If the Media Player plays without stopping, then you know that your connection to the Internet cannot handle the larger sound files. Once it works, you might want to try the next higher setting; “Medium” to see if it will play without stopping.
8. Check to ensure that your hardware and software meets the minimal requirements. SongSelect Requirements
9. Still not working?
The problem may be caused by network congestion. The Internet is not a direct pipeline from our computers to yours. The audio stream you are attempting to receive passes through many server computers on the way. If there is too much traffic at any of these computers, or any of them aren't working, traffic jams are created and the signal may be difficult or impossible to receive for a time.
Generally speaking, remember that any changes you make may not take effect until you restart your computer. If you still cannot hear sound while playing SongSelect Sound Samples, we suggest you contact the manufacturer of your hardware or software for support of their products.
